The 8-speed in my 2018 V6 was very disappointing. It was very lazy even though it was connected to a great engine. The 8-speed wouldn't allow you to experience the full potential of the engine. It never downshifted to the correct gear when lots of power was needed like it was programmed to save the engine from revving too hard. I hate to say it but the CVT setup may be the better choice.

It's not where the car or truck is built. it's the high price for a Tacoma $55k is too expensive should be $35k to $40k

the ct4 2.0 gets a 8 sp auto not the 10sp. the ct5 2.0 turbo will get the 10 sp. thats how gm differentiates the different class of cars . ct5 supposed to be the higher level so their base motor will have the better transmission than the ct4's base motor and tranny. and their luxury; premium 2.7 gets the 10sp but i believe its not the same shift programing as the V. The 2.7 V's 10sp is going to be crisper and feels more snappy when shifting than the lux prem version. If they kept the shift program the same in the lux prem as the V then what's the point of buying the V right? having an extra 15hp aint gonna do it.

This is precisely why I love my 2015 1.5L ND. You can sink the slipper more often, have a ball and get away with it! The fuel economy and more importantly fuel range is a bonus too!

Most Toyota dealers are still charging insane markups where other brand dealers have moved on from that covid nonsense. When you can’t even get fast food for the family dinner for under $50 these days, people don’t want an overpriced truck that ALSO has markup.

'Couldn't care less about the far-fetched features of the concept vehicle; what I'm interested in would be a midsize *van* - not a minivan - with decent power. ICE or hybrid, preferably, not electric or plug-in (with heavy battery packs). For such a vehicle, I'd even consider a Mitsubishi. I'd remove the seats and make it a camper.

Went to buy a used car with a small criteria, 1 a sleeper that had vinyl or leather, 2 a bit of pep so when I pulled out on the interstate I felt comfortable, 3 x amount down and and the monthly payment. Low and b hold a 2017 chevy malibu premier 2.0 turbo and the 9 speed auto transmission 250 hp 260 lbs tourqe with 12 k miles and now it's discounted I am happy with it and ashamed to hear the news

Suppliers are not the real issue here, do more research. There are 200 Tacos sitting on the lots where I live. The real problems is they are 4 cylinder turbos, built in Mexico, fetching premium prices.

Around where I live. A population of over 3 million. There are hundreds of these trucks piling up on dealers lots. Same with all other brands as well. Honestly, these lots look like they did back in 2019 before the fabricated nonsense of 2020 happened. People are broke, dealers got way too greedy and manufactures got greedy as well. I don't like car companies that collaborate or have ownership in the other. You end up with homogeneous cars as one company overtakes the other or holds it back so they dont compete directly. If they have the same engine then what's the point? Look at the BRZ and GR86. Imagine if Subrau built their own sports car. It would be a lot better than that BRZ which was forced on them by Toyota.
